Blurring the boundaries: An integrated approach to creating sustainable urban environments
Wednesday 11 March 2020 11.30-12.15
Invest Newcastle, Stand C19.C
As global cities grow at pace and urban demographics continue to evolve, is an integrated, multi-agency approach needed to create sustainable urban environments where communities can truly live and age well? Can blurring the boundaries between residential, workplace, education, health and infrastructure ensure people, first and foremost, are placed at the heart of urban design?
This event will explore the benefits of combining the expertise of public bodies, private companies and research centres to take a holistic view of urban design. It will look at the changing demographics and environmental data sets that are impacting placemaking today, alongside some successful examples of multi-agency integration.
