Building performance for people: Commercial and clinical outcomes

Tuesday 10 March 2020 11.30-12.15

Invest Newcastle, Stand C19.C

While typical discussions around smart building technologies have centred on reducing the bottom line, cutting energy bills and reducing impact on the environment, less focus has been given to the potential impact of smart tech on people’s health and wellbeing. A closer look at the healthcare sector demonstrates just how far the built environment can drive performance efficiencies and, crucially, improve clinical outcomes.

This event will explore future trends for smart buildings in healthcare, while taking a closer look at the work of Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust – recently rated “outstanding” for a second time. Chief executive, Dame Jackie Daniel, will discuss why investment and innovation within the built environment is paramount to providing the best and safest care for our communities.
