How and what is being done to give the north a stronger voice?
It’s been 8 years since the Northern Powerhouse was proposed to boost economic growth in the North of England. Since 2014, what has been done to give the North a stronger voice, and who is responsible for accelerating its ambitions? How can the Northern Powerhouse’s impact reach beyond business, and boost infrastructure, public services and uplift its people?
This panel will hear from the women who are leading change and connecting the Northern Powerhouse. As the North tackles devolution, levelling up, power share from Whitehall and attracting all important private and public sector investment, it must never lose sight of the need for gender equality and diversity of leadership within the Northern Powerhouse.
How can leaders encourage support for every level of the Northern Powerhouse and how do we ensure a balanced share of power across it?
