At Newcastle City Council we have big ambitions for our city. We want it to be the best place in the UK to be born, to live, to work and to study.
Together with our partners, we are shaping our city today to build a lasting legacy for tomorrow.
We’re investing in our future, making use of our financial powers and partnerships to support business growth and encourage investment, creating new and better jobs that will define future generations, whilst ensuring the benefits are experienced across all our communities.
Newcastle City Council’s programme of renewal and reinvention, Re-newcastle, is delivering the biggest transformation of the city’s infrastructure in a generation. We are improving national and international transport links. We are making our city centre easier to get around on foot and by bike. We have put in place superfast broadband connections that today’s businesses need to connect to their markets.
We are building new homes across the city, creating new communities for our growing population. And we are creating new business districts, which will attract international investors and create thousands of new jobs.
Some of our investment plans are delivering on the ground and the city’s skyline continues to change, including iconic and award-winning housing developments across the city, innovative public private partnerships delivering multi-million pound developments, and a £60 million programme of transport improvements transforming the city’s highways, all making Newcastle a more attractive place.
We’re looking to create 14,000 new jobs up to 2030 and over the next three years the council will invest over £330 million to improve the city’s infrastructure, create space for new businesses to grow and flourish and work with developers to provide 3,000 new homes in Newcastle.
Newcastle is a vibrant and growing city. We’re very much open for business so please come along and meet the team to find out more about what we can offer.
