Newcastle Science Central is a 9.7 hectare site, the largest city-centre development of its kind in the UK, offering an opportunity to develop commercial, residential and retail space, in a sought-after central location in the North East of England. The site is a hub where investors, businesses, entrepreneurs, students, scientists and citizens can collaborate, innovate and develop solutions for tomorrow’s cities.
Phase 1 is complete and fully occupied with phase 2 underway. The second phase will include three national centres of excellence, which will lead pioneering research in to integrated energy systems, smart data and, ageing innovation and technology.
Phase 2 will also bring forward 200,000 sq. ft. of Grade A office space, in partnership with Legal & General, 80,000 sq. ft of state-of-the-art laboratories and Newcastle University’s 75,000 sq. ft Learning and Teaching Centre.
Future plans include a residential area, compromising of 450 homes and a district energy network designed to serve Newcastle Science Central site and potentially the wider area.
